Sylvie Bouriaux, Ph.D.
Biography:
Ms. Bouriaux is an Associate Professor of Finance at Illinois State University,
in the Finance, Insurance and Law Department. Her research and teaching focus is
in the areas of derivative securities and securitization of insurance risk.
Prior to her position at ISU, Ms. Bouriaux was with the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) for ten years where her last position was Director of Strategy. She also directed Research and Product Development efforts in the financial products area at the CBOT. During her tenure as Group Manager of Research and Product development, she focused on the development of new products in fixed-income and equities as well as in alternative investments (insurance and credit derivatives).
Ms. Bouriaux holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Paris-Assas, France. She has published numerous articles and papers, notably related to insurance securitization issues. Her current research focuses on the use of derivatives by U.S. based fixed-income mutual funds.
