2008 Challengers Arrive on Campus

The Redbird Risk Management Challenge once again welcomes the new competitors to the Illinois State University campus to test themselves against the best the Midwest has to offer. Made possible through the financial support of the Spencer Educational Foundation and the Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services, the Challenge pits team-against-team in a weeklong battle for corporate supremacy. When the dust settles, only one team can claim the title of 2008 Challenge champions.

Welcome to the Redbird Challenge

Jim Jones

I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the 2008 Redbird Risk Management Challenge—I will be your host for the week.

My name is Jim Jones and I am the Director of the Katie Insurance School in the College of Business at Illinois State University. We have a number of demanding tasks that await you – I hope you’re up to the Challenge.

I have been the Director of the Katie School since 2001 and before that I was Director of Claims Education and Director of the Center for Performance Improvement and Innovation at the Insurance Institute of America. I hold an MBA from St. Louis University and am the editor of "The Principles of Workers Compensation" (1999) and Liability Claim Practices" (2001) and the author of other textbooks, as well as several research articles.
