Welcome to my personal web site. This site has been designed to serve both as an introduction to me, as well as a functional site for my own personal use. I am an assistant professor at Illinois State University, Normal, IL and have held similar positions at Bradley University (Peoria, IL) and at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. While my functional expertise lies in the insurance and risk management disciplines, my work experience spans both industry and academia. With a bachelor degree in education, I have had over 20 years of experience in the classroom at different levels and in various capacities—including corporate training. I have also worked in the insurance industry for four years on both the broker and insurer sides of the business. These experiences are now integrated in my role as a professor of insurance at Illinois State where I teach courses in insurance company operations and liability insurance. While I consider myself a Wisconsin native, I have lived in over 22 locations during my life. A few of the more unique places include Japan, Australia, and Alaska.
