This site serves as my primary web site for my own personal use as well as a repository for background information on my life for any interested readers. My work career has intertwined the fields of education and the insurance industry as I now work as a professor of insurance and risk management at Illinois State University. While I have led a rather nomadic existence (I have lived in over 22 different locations) I have now lived in Normal, Illinois for over ten years—a record for me. A few of the more interesting locations in which I have lived include: Tokyo, Sydney, Boston, Chicago, and Fairbanks. I am married and have twin five year-old children. While I currently live in Illinois, I consider myself to be a Wisconsinite at heart—the state in which I spent many of my formative years. Two stints in Japan has allowed me to develop my abilities in that language, although my linguistic skills have been steadily deteriorating over time as I no longer have the opportunity to use my Japanese. |
