Ad Agency Advice
It is absolutely possible to get
an entry-level position in an ad agency. Many of our alums have. You must
check out an agency's web page thoroughly so that you know what they do, who
their clients are and what positions might be most appropriate for you.
Know what job you are applying for before you contact anyone at the agency
or in their HR Department - DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
The IMC Faculty will recommend our best students directly to agencies.

Special Note On
Internships at Ad Agencies:
Chicago agencies tend to hire their summer interns by
Jan-Feb. The application process is online & should be completed as soon as
possible in the Fall Semester. [If it’s Spring, don’t give up…by all means,
apply -- but do try to get your summer internship applications for ad
agencies submitted in the Fall]. Talk to your
IMC Faculty about our alumni connections and the internship and hiring
process for ARC Worldwide & Starcom (Leo Burnett Affiliates) in Chicago.
Completing an internship is an entry path to ad agencies -- it is not
uncommon for new graduates to begin as an intern at an ad agency after
graduation. |
